Bugle - Survivor (Official Video 2015)
Each generation needs its herald. A voice for the people---shedding light on the issues that touch the common man. Well, aptly named Major Links Entertainment / Daseca Productions recording artist, Bugle, is that voice.
A man of the people for the people, singer-songwriter Bugle launched his musical career in 2000. A chance meeting with international dancehall artist Elephant Man in Bugle’s hometown of Kingston, Jamaica led to a long career of penning hits including ‘All Out’, which was featured in the internationally- recognized Puma commercial starring Usain Bolt. Bugle fondly remembers touring with the self-proclaimed ‘Energy God’, making appearances on BET’s 106 & Park and the MTV Awards red carpet.
However, being the man behind the music wasn’t enough for the ambitious singer whose lyrics possessed the gift of insight. Bugle’s rise to the spotlight arrived in 2007 with the socially conscious track Exercise (What I’m Gonna Do) became a massive hit, topping charts throughout Caribbean, and landing on airwaves across the US. The song not only showcased Bugle’s inspired writing abilities, but also his deep, soulful voice. Fans were instantly hooked.
His reputation preceding him, Bugle continued to flesh out his musical résumé, working with industry notables like Bounty Killa, Julian Marley, Assassin, Etana, Tarrus Riley, and numerous others. With more than two-dozen singles and countless production credits under his belt, Bugle can always be found in the studio steadily pumping out new tracks.
Summer 2012 saw the release of Bugle’s third mixtape, Psalms. The Sean ‘Razz’ Cousley- produced project (of Razz & Biggy) features 43 tracks about his journey in the music business. “Psalm means to sing or celebrate. That’s what I wanted to convey to my fans. I wanted to celebrate my life, love, and lessons through my music.” Social inequity continues to fuel the talents of this soon-to-be international household name. Stay tuned to hear what more Bugle has to say.
