The second edition of Noisey Jamaica is a look into the revolutionary new young reggae movement led by charismatic artists like Chronixx and Jesse Royal. Presented by Major Lazer's Walshy Fire and also featuring controversial new dancehall artists like Alkaline, Noisey Jamaica travels from downtown to the beaches to report on one of the most exciting periods in Jamaica's rich musical history, including a look at the influence of Vybz Kartel, currently incarcerated for murder.

London-based singjay Stylo G won yesterday in London the Best Reggae Act award at the MOBO Awards. Jason McDermott was selected over Alkaline, Popcaan, Chronixx and Tarrus Riley. Look at our recent video interview with Stylo G on Reggae.Today!

A few months ago, Bass Odyssey, one of the greatest soundsystems on this planet, celebrated their 25th anniversary, in Jamaica.

Being known as a hardcore sound from day one, the settings for the event had to be appropriate.
Therefor the dance was promoted as the first SOUNDSYSTEM-FESTIVAL in Jamaica, in order to celebrate the soundsystem culture as a whole.

SENTINEL & Bass Odyssey organized a little tour around this legendary event. Together we played 3 crazy and wicked shows in Jamaica before we stepped on the anniversary stage

Three physical soundsystems strung up in Richmond, Priory, St. Ann:
Bass Odyssey, Killamanjaro and Stone Love
The line-up was completed by Metromedia, Renaissance and SENTINEL.

It was a great pleasure and honour for the Everlasting Sound to be picked for representing Europe on this event, which was the first of its kind, in Jamaica.
Once six high caliber soundsystems play in one lawn, people expect hardcore entertainment.
Not surprisingly, that's exactly what they got.
Because all of the sounds, featured on the line-up, belong to the best in this world, the german sound had to make sure, that they play extraordinary, in order to convince the jamaican crowd of their skills.
And, without any doubt, they did.
At the end of the night, common sense was, that the German Luger has just done the place.
Even the legendary selectors in the dance, like Ricky Trooper, Freddie Krueger, Skyjuice and Geefus, gave SENTINEL their props for their performance.
Last but not least SENTINEL would like to give thanks to the whole Bass Odyssey Family for their trust and salutes them on the next 25 years to come.

On November 24, 2014, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Uprising Live! by Bob Marley on DVD, DVD + CD set, and Digital Video (pre-book order date October 31). This is the first ever DVD release of this classic concert, which originally aired on the famed German television series Rockpalast, from Bob Marley’s final tour.

The Uprising Tour ran in Europe from May 30th to July 13th 1980 with five further dates in the USA in September. It was Bob Marley’s last tour before his tragically early passing in May 1981, at the age of just 36. The tour was in support of the Uprising album, (released June 10th, 1980) and just a few days later, this show would be filmed from Dortmund’s Westfalen Stadium in Germeny. Now, Rockpalast is presented here on DVD for the first time, with footage fully restored under the supervision of Cedella Marley and Ziggy Marley.

On Uprising Live!, Bob Marley is in superb form and deliver a set full of energy and charisma, including the icon songs “No Woman, No Cry,” “Exodus,” “I Shot The Sheriff,” “Redemption Song,” “Is This Love,” “Jamming,” “Get Up, Stand Up,” “Could This Be Love” and many more. The show opens with a short set by the I Threes – Marley’s backing vocalists – who traditionally would perform a few songs before Marley took the stage.

February 6th 2015 will be, what would have been, Bob Marley’s 70th birthday and, with very few Bob Marley live concerts available on DVD, Uprising Live! will be a welcome addition for any fan.

The official video was shot on location in St. John’s, Antigua - by Music Producer & Visual Artist Justin “Jus Bus” Nation and edited by Eyefoto Antigua and Jus Bus Respectively.

Since the release of Promise No Promises - P.N.P’s 17 track reggae album the “Draw We Out” single has been generating a massive buzz, being featured on numerous radio stations across the Caribbean - and soon to break on the international reggae space.
The video emphasizes the true to life context of the lyrics being delivered on this track, where the artist speaks about the life of those living in a state of mental frustration, a situation that is common the world over. The artist demonstrates his versatility, style and flavor as he expresses his concerns for society today - identifying some of the obstacles that are hindering the advancement of the lower class of people in this world. He warns not to be “ drawn out” - getting oneself involved with wrongdoings to sustain your living nor succumbing to the pressures of life allowing for the ruining of one's mental capacity.
